ASSOCHAM has been regularly engaging itself with the policy makers (Ministry of HRD, Planning Commission and AIU including Education Bodies / Institutions) to bring the desired reforms in the education sector-more so on a holistic basis.
It has also been observed that there has been a significant participation of private sector in imparting quality education. They are effectively contributing to the Indian GDP as well as to the national economy. The participation of private sector in Indian Education ecosystem has helped our countrymen receive quality education. The foundation led by education institutions has helped the country compete on a global basis. The private education sector has also created huge employment and it has been trying to uplift the country`s overall educational affairs in its own way. Today, India has the largest number of institutions, second largest in terms of enrollment with largest higher education system in the world. In short education today is no longer a state subject.
The council endeavors to encourage entrepreneurs of education sector to effectively contribute to the education topography of Eastern India, regularly have dialogue with the state govt`s of this part of the geography with the objective to bring about the desired sectoral reforms. The council also endevours to foster quality culture in Education system in addition to encourage entrepreneurs to venture into e-learning, vocational education amongst others.
