Social Security is a comprehensive approach designed to prevent deprivation, assure the individual of a basic minimum income for himself and his dependents and to protect the individual from any uncertainties. The Government bears the primary responsibility for developing appropriate system for providing protection and assistance to its workforce. Social Security is increasingly viewed as an integral part of the development process. It helps to create a more positive attitude to the challenge of globalization and the consequent structural and technological changes.

 

The Government has decided EPFO's investments in the stock market, to invest 15 per cent of its investible fund to exchange traded fund (ETF) in 2017-18.  Around Rs 23,000 crore of the Rs 1.5 lakh crore of investible funds of the Employee's Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) is likely to be invested in ETF in the current fiscal. The Government is also considering of creating a social security fund.
 
Keeping this in view, ASSOCHAM is organizing one day International Conference on Recent Changes @ Social Security - Trends, Equity Markets, Expatriate Taxation on 11th October, 2017 at Hotel Shangri-La, New Delhi.
