Food Value Chain is a network which creates value for millions of different stakeholders such as Farmers, Farm Aggregators, Food Processors, Cold Chain, Retailers, R&D Organizations, Financial Institutions, Multinational Corporations, and Governments to meet economic & social goals.
 
The role of Ministry of Food Processing Industry, Government of India is instrumental in development of Food Value Chain Partnerships in India and is implementing various schemes for its promotion. This will enable industries to adopt better and more efficient technologies to ensure year-round availability of perishable food products and reasonable prices to the consumers but also equitable distribution to other parts of the country. Indian Food Market has strong growth potential which is still untapped. The household consumption is expected to be doubled by 2022; Investment potential of USD 22 billion in food processing infrastructure. The establishment of food parks which will create a unique opportunity for entrepreneurs, including foreign investors to enter in the Indian food processing sector by enabling 100% FDI.

 
India has the potential to become the World’s food factory; however, there is a strong need to strengthen nexus between farmers, food processing industries & markets. Hand-holding by the Government agencies is need of the hour to improve living standards of the farmers. There are ample opportunities available in Food Value Chain like investments in foodtech, online food delivery chains, technologies in farming and processing, to name a few!

 
With this background, ASSOCHAM proposes a 2 Day International Exhibitions, Conferences & Roundtables on Food Value Partnerships at New Delhi on 27th – 28th September, 2018.
