India’s higher education sector has witnessed an enormous growth over the past few years.  Today, India has the largest number of institutions, second largest in terms of enrollment with largest higher education system in existence.  But still country’s education system faces challenges on several fronts.  The need of the hour is creation of an employable workforce to harness its demographic dividend.  Hence it becomes paramount important to bring reform in the existing education system that can deliver quality in education to ready skilled workforce to meet the society’s needs and take the Indian economy to a higher trajectory.

Keeping in view the holistic and integrated approach taken by the Government in the 12th Five Year Plan with new steps and initiatives taken to strengthen quality in the existing institutions and universities, ASSOCHAM is organizing two days International Conference on Excellence in Education to discuss the issues how the quality of education can be enhanced as skill shortages and unemployable graduates still persist with a focus on developing strategies required to improve quality in higher education delivery with emphasis on world-class research and innovations to enhance the development of higher education in India.
