Education Excellence Awards 2013 Ceremony
As you may kindly be aware, ASSOCHAM is the oldest leading APEX CHAMBER set up in 1920, catering directly and indirectly to over 3,50,000 members from all over the country with 300 regional Chambers associated with it. ASSOCHAM has also positioned itself as the “Knowledge Chamber” with 100 ASSOCHAM National Councils, heading different segment of Industry.
ASSOCHAM has undertaken certain initiatives in the area of reforms in education especially in the country’s need to improve the gross enrollment ratio in higher education. A lot has been done but a lot more needs to be done. Major hindrances and hurdles inhibiting its growth need to be removed while ensuring quality and employability in Higher education system.
India’s higher education sector has witnessed an enormous growth over the past few years. Today, India has the largest number of institutions, second largest in terms of enrollment with largest higher education system in existence. But still country’s education system faces challenges on several fronts. The need of the hour is creation of an employable workforce to harness its demographic dividend. Hence it becomes paramount important to bring reform in the existing education system that can deliver quality in education to ready skilled workforce to meet the society’s needs and take the Indian economy to a higher trajectory.
Keeping in view the holistic and integrated approach taken by the Government in the 12th Five Year Plan with new steps and initiatives taken to strengthen quality in the existing institutions and universities, ASSOCHAM is organizing two days International Conference on Excellence in Education to discuss the issues how the quality of education can be enhanced as skill shortages and unemployable graduates still persist with a focus on developing strategies required to improve quality in higher education delivery with emphasis on world-class research and innovations to enhance the development of higher education in India.

University/Institutions/Enterprises/Corporates who wish to nominate themselves or others for the ASSOCHAM Awards of excellence in the field of Education 2013 need to furnish details about the projects they are involved with. The nominated projects will be evaluated according to the following criteria:
The Award selection process will go through a dual process of Jury as well as public voting system. The selected winners will be felicitated Awards at the conference held on ………………
The selection procedure for award nomination is sequential.
Who can Participate/ Nominate
University/Institutions/Enterprises/Corporates/Education solution providers/project/ programmes can be nominated for the ASSOCHAM Excellence Award in Education by any of the methods stated below:
Direct application – An institution/project/ corporate can nominate themselves to the award process by filling up the nomination Form
Peer nomination – An institution/corporate can nominate any other institution project for the awards. However, the peer nominator should disclose his/ her name and details in the form
