J.R.D. Tata Memorial Lecture 2010
Professor Nohria made history when he became the first dean of Indian origin in the 102 year history of the prestigious Harvard Business School. He has co-authored and co-edited 16 books and authored over 75 journal articles, book chapters, cases, working papers, and notes. His most recent book “Paths to Power” chronicles how leaders from different backgrounds rose to power in American business. The programme is on 29th July, 2010 at Tata Theatre, NCPA Marg, Nariman Point, Mumbai, at 6:00 PM IST. This year, for the first time in the history of the ‘JRD Tata Memorial Lecture’ series, ASSOCHAM will also have a live webcast of the lecture allowing people across India and the world to watch in real time. This captures the spirit of globalization and the way that business is conducted in today’s world. Dean Nitin Nohria’s oration can be accessed live on Webcast through the internet as well as through Reliance homepage, mobile communication and BIGTV. The lecture will be available on the system from 6:00 PM IST and can be viewed from all over the world. Harvard Business School alumni will be participating in the programme in Mumbai. To commemorate and honor JRD Tata as an icon of the Indian industry, ASSOCHAM instituted an annual lecture series titled ‘JRD Tata Memorial Lecture’ in 1998. JRD Tata was also a pioneer of globalization from an Indian business perspective. It is befitting that this year’s oration will be delivered by another great visionary of the international business landscape.
