ASSOCHAM has been undertaking sustained initiatives in the form of a mission for bringing about the desired changes in the policies, rules and planning approaches relating to the urbanizing process of the country. Our campaigns have also been closely linked with the objectives of the JNNURM. 

Based upon its experience the Chamber feels that it has become extremely important at this stage to strengthen the financial foundations of the urban local bodies as that would have a strong impact on a creation of both physical and urban infrastructure in our cities and towns. In turn, this will give a tremendous boost to the real estate sector uniformly across the country. 

At the same time there is also an urgent need for giving final touches to the urban related legal and procedural reforms for creating a smooth developmental environment and facilitate the concerned stakeholders to give a concrete shape to their projects and visions.

The Chamber is accordingly organizing a one day conference on the theme “Urban Land Markets & Finances : The Legal, Financial & Procedural Reforms” on 28th November, 2007 at Hotel Intercontinental The Grand, New Delhi.

The conference will be addressed by key policy makers in the Government, legal experts, urban development specialists, legal and finance experts and real estate developers.
