at New Delhi.
Acknowledging the importance of innovation to agriculture
development and affirming our commitment to advancing further the contributions
of knowledge – based industries to India’s growth, ASSOCHAM is
organizing a Summit on GREEN REVOLUTION
- II with focus on ‘Knowledge Agriculture’ scheduled
for 22 - 24 November, 2006 at New Delhi jointly with the Ministry
of Agriculture, Indian Council for Agricultural Research (ICAR) and the
Council for Scientific Research (CSIR). The Hon’ble Prime Minister
of India Dr. Manmohan Singh has been requested to inaugurate the
summit.
The
summit is being supported by the Ministries of Agriculture,
Science and Technology, Water Resources, Chemicals and Fertilizers,
Rural Development, Department of Biotechnology, Planning Commission,
Indian Council for Agricultural Research and The Council for
Scientific and Industrial Research, Government of India.
The
summit will be a milestone event that will bring emerging opportunities
for both the academia and industry in pursuit of improving agricultural
productivity in the country and offers an excellent forum for
interaction with key players from the world over in Agriculture
and allied sectors thereby fostering international cooperation
and public-private partnerships linkages for commerce and employment
creation.
