Formation
of India-China Business Alliance (ICBA) ASSOCHAM,
in recent past, has taken initiatives in the important areas such as Africa, Arab
World, CIS, Knowledge Economy SEZ etc. In the context of fast emerging economic
scenario in China and the significance of developing and responding closer trade
and commercial ties with it, ASSOCHAM has now taken the initiative to set up an
active new platform to top businessmen of both sides to deliberate on right strategies
in this regard. As a first step, an India-China Business Alliance has been formed
in the presence of H.E. Mr. Sun Yuxi, Ambassador, People’s Republic of China and
Government officials in ASSOCHAM House on 13th March. The Alliance shall be chaired
by Dr. D.K. Ghosh, Chairman & Managing Director, ZTE Telecom India Pvt. Ltd.
and Co-chaired by Mr. Robinson Yu Yong Bin.
The objectives of the
Alliance are to provide facilitation cell as well as advisory services to the
Indian and Chinese companies, especially to the members of the Chamber.
I am happy that while inaugurating the Alliance H.E. the Ambassador announced
that on the recommendations of the ICBA, Embassy will be granting Express Visas,
attending all the specific problems, and will seek clarifications from China on
priority basis. The Alliance would also enjoy support of the governments of both
the countries.
Members are already aware that the Chamber has started
fortnightly “China Up Date”. Large number of Chinese Companies have already joined
ASSOCHAM, and creation of special Data Bank on China is under process. The product-wise
Chinese Companies, interested in Imports and Exports from India are also available
with the Chamber. These are specialized services and will be strictly provided
on commercial basis.
