The logistics sector in India is unorganized and fragmented with a large number of stakeholders private and public, small and large. Despite the recognition of logistics being a critical driver of economic development, logistics cost in India is very high as compared with more efficient global environments. There is a need to develop a robust policy framework for the sector to ensure the ease of doing business across states.
Today, supply chain remains at the despatch level. The Charter of the Council is to create awareness about its importance and aims to bring it to the board level. The Council closely works with the different Government Departments to resolve industry issues towards ease of doing business.
