To address the concerns relating to deficit of physical infrastructure for energy access at affordable prices to larger cross section of society is a major priority for the Central Government as well as respective Governments in the North-Eastern states of India. North Eastern part of the country has the capacity to become significant contributor to the energy basket of the country as the region has major coal reserve, hydro-carbon deposits and huge hydro power potential.

Being a distributed and scalable resource, deployment of renewable energy have the capability to reach far and beyond into the remote areas as well. However, towards meeting growing energy needs and the scale of investment requirement, private sector investment has to complement the public sector.

In view of the contemporary relevance of the above issues and large scale investment opportunity for both public and private sectors, ASSOCHAM is organizing a Conference on “Energy Infrastructure in North East” on 05th November 2015 at Hotel Radisson Blu in Guwahati, Assam.
