High level of crude oil import have adversely effected India`s current account position. Fast depreciation of the rupee has caused the import bill to rise at a faster rate. With uncertainty prevailing in the international market the oil prices have also shown wide fluctuation.
Recent Government approval for increasing natural gas price is expected to encourage investment in exploration is a bold initiative towards augmenting domestic production.
 In the context of above and related issues impacting the Indian economy, ASSOCHAM is organizing a Seminar on “Indian Economy in the context of global energy scenario – Focusing on Hydrocarbon Sectoron 17th July 2013 at Hotel Shangri-la in New Delhi. Dr. M. Veerappa Moily Hon’ble Union Minister for Petroleum & Natural Gas has kindly consented to address the seminar.
