In India, two deaths occur every three minutes due to tuberculosis (TB) which is more than 3,00,000 people every year. The Government has a Revised National Tuberculosis Control Programme (RNTCP) in which the internationally accepted DOTS (Directly Observed Treatment, short course) strategy is used. TB is a 100% curable disease through spread out of awareness about the disease.
With objective of getting to Zero death due to TB in India, In Collaboration of Central TB Division, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt of India, ASSOCHAM has decided to initiate awareness and preventive health care programme in various part of India. This Programme is also supported by Ministry of Coal , Ministry of Science & Technology, Ministry of Steel , Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises , Ministry of Panchayati Raj, Govt. of India. For awareness, diagnosis & treatment, Camps will be organized for workers at work places of industries and for community at villages (nearby industries). During these Camps, almost 2.5 Lakhs people will be covered in different States. For Launching of programme, One day conference will be held with stakeholders at New Delhi.
It is acknowledged that to achieve the programme objective of Universal access, the private sector must be engaged for promoting preventive health care programme under CSR.
In view of the above, we are inviting you as a partner for support of National Programme.
