Complex tax structure having cascading effect on cost of production has been one of the biggest hindrances affecting competitiveness of Indian industry. Introduction of unified Goods and Services Tax is seen as the way out of this problem. Government of India has been engaged in elaborate consultations with state governments with a view to evolve consensus over the matter.
Having covered sufficient ground, Government intends to implement the GST in India w.e.f. April 1, 2016.  Complete implementation of GST throughout the country will mark culmination of economy’s most ambitious tax reform.
With a view to update the industry on progress of proposed GST structure and its implication for various stake holders ASSOCHAM is organizing a Conference on Goods & Services Tax as per following schedule:
