Agri and Food Processors Conclave
Finance, Technology & Market

19 February, 2015, Hotel Aloft, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu

About the Event

Introduction

The food processing industry provides vital linkages and synergies between industry and agriculture. The Food Processing Industry sector in India is one of the largest in terms of production, consumption, export and growth prospects. The government has accorded it a high priority, with a number of fiscal relief and incentives, to encourage commercialization and value addition to agricultural produce, for minimizing pre/post harvest wastage, generating employment and boosting exports of processed food.

The food processing sector in India requires technology up-gradation to tap global markets as well as strengthening its position in domestic market. However, there are large numbers of SME’s who are associated with Indian food processing industry and requires finance to meet modernization demands of the equipment's & machinery in this industry. To boost the food processing sector it is important to address the financial requirements of these SME’s in terms of loans, incentives, etc to the industry. Further more, the benefit of technology-up-gradation and financial incentives can only be accrued if food marketing links are strengthened including the value chain especially food growers, processors, wholesalers, retailers, and foodservice establishments
