As you are aware, The Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (ASSOCHAM) India’s apex Chamber of Chambers serving over 96 years having over 400 regional chambers has been striving hard to bring desired reforms in Education sector. ASSOCHAM has also positioned itself as the “Knowledge Chamber” with 100 ASSOCHAM National Councils, heading different segments of Industry.
ASSOCHAM being the Member of MHRD Empowered Committees and has undertaken many initiatives to bring reforms in education especially in the country’s need to improve the gross enrollment ratio in higher education, quality of education with employability and skill development. A lot has been done but a lot more needs to be done. In this context ASSOCHAM has been organizing number of seminars, conferences and workshops in association with Ministry of HRD, AIU including other Educational Institutions Bodies.
As a matter of fact, India’s higher education sector has witnessed an enormous growth in the past few years. Today, India has the largest number of institutions, second largest in terms of enrollment with largest higher education system in the world. But still country’s education system faces challenges on several fronts. The need of the hour is creation of an employable workforce to harness its demographic dividend. Hence it becomes paramount important to bring drastic reforms in the existing education system that can deliver quality in education to ready skilled workforce to meet the country’s needs and take the Indian economy to a higher growth.
Keeping in view the holistic and integrated approach taken by the Government in structuring the National Higher Education Policy 2015 with new steps and initiatives taken to strengthen quality in the existing institutions and universities, ASSOCHAM is organizing One Day National Summit on research in Higher Education followed by ASSOCHAM, National Education Excellence Awards – 2015 on the 18th April, 2015 (Saturday) at Hotel The Taj Mahal, 1 Mansingh Road, New Delhi, to felicitate those with National Education Excellence Awards who have taken initiatives and contributed significantly in improving the quality of education, innovation, research and development.

Selection Criteria
Universities/Institutions/Educational Enterprises/Corporate who wish to nominate themselves or others for the ASSOCHAM Awards of excellence in the field of Education 2015 need to furnish details about the projects they are involved with. The nominated projects will be evaluated according to the following criteria:
  • Innovation
  • Scalability
  • Ability to overcome challenges
  • Achievements
  • Impact Potential
The above mentioned Awards would be decided by the eminent Jury governing rules & procedural system for the evaluation of the entries. The Award selection process will go through a dual process of Jury. The selected winners will be felicitated with Awards at the summit held on 18th April, 2015 by the Hon’ble Minister of MHRD.
Selection Procedure
The selection procedure for Awards nomination is sequential.
  • The project will be first nominated through a Form(attached)
  • The project will be evaluated according to the laid down criteria by the expert team.
  • The project will also be evaluated by an independent set of jury members
  • Winners will be announced at the Conference venue.
  • The Winner in each category will be announced and ASSOCHAM Trophy & Certificate by the Honorable Education Minister.
Important Information
  • The Finalist will be announced and felicitated at the 18th April, 2015 Conference venue at Hotel The Taj Mahal, 1 Mansingh Road, New Delhi
  • A booklet of the awardees in each category with the citation will be published in booklet and widely circulated
Who can Participate/ Nominate
Universities / Institutions/K – 12 School/Educational Enterprises/ Corporate /Education solution providers / project / Programmes can be nominated for the ASSOCHAM Excellence Award in Education initiative by any of the methods stated below:
◊ Direct application – An institution/project/ corporate can nominate themselves to the award process by filling up the nomination Form
◊ Peer nomination – An institution/corporate can nominate any other institution project for the awards. However, the peer nominator should disclose his/ her name and details in the form.

Registration Fees: 

  • Delegate Participation Fee: INR 3000/-  
  • Award Processing Fee (including two complimentary delegates): INR 10,000/-
