Technology today has become synonymous with banking and Indian banks have put in place a fairly strong infrastructure to leverage its benefits. It has made a visible difference in the functioning of banks and conduct of banking operations.
The growing volumes of electronic payments reflect customer acknowledgement of convenience and trust. Electronic payments, whether Person to Person (P2P) or Person to Business (P2B), generally take one of the two forms – online payments carried out through internet and proximity payments facilitated by the use of cards (card payments). Internet and mobile banking channels are very widely used and are increasingly becoming popular. These channels are used by customers for both account information services and payment initiation services.
ASSOCHAM, with the support of industry leaders, experts and senior bankers is organizing a 2nd National Summit on “IT & Mobile Banking: Digital transformation of Indian banking” on 29th April 2015 in New Delhi with an aim to build a model framework and suggest measures that can be taken to strengthen the technology banking in India.
