The Hon’ble Prime Minister in his Independence Day speech announced the idea of “Start Up, Stand Up India”, where he mentioned that, “each of 1.25 Lac Bank Branches should encourage at least one Dalit or Adivasi Entrepreneur and at least one Women Entrepreneur”.
This will include helping Start Ups with their capital requirements, incubation, issues related to intellectual property, marketing support, financial and technical help to scale up their businesses.
The Hon’ble Prime Minister is expected to formally launch the Start Up India program on 16th January, 2016.
India has the 4th largest ecosystem in the world for Start-ups, after the US, the UK and Israel, with rapidly evolving ecosystem, driven by an extremely young, diverse and inclusive entrepreneurial landscape.
According to a Report by iSpirit, the Top 30 software product Start-ups in India are now valued at USD 10.25 billion, a 20% increase from October 2014 – these Start-ups employ 21,200 people and has 80% of their customer base abroad.
The recent Government initiatives for backing and funding Start Ups including the India Aspiration Fund, the Atal Innovation Mission and the Self-Employment and Talent Utilisation (SETU) under the Niti Aayog are very encouraging and welcomed by the Industry.
We are pleased to inform you that ASSOCHAM, also known as India’s Knowledge Chamber has taken the initiative of organizing the START UP iNDIA 2016 on 20th January, 2016 at ITC Maurya, New Delhi from 09:00 am.
This Annual Meet is “Officially Supported” by the Investment and Technology Promotion Division, Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, other Ministries are also expected to extend their support to this initiative.
The Annual Summit is expected to be Addressed by the Hon’ble Minister, Secretary, Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP), Senior Officials from the NITI Aayog, SIDBI, prominent Start Up companies, leading Private Equity firms amongst others.
