ASSOCHAM, India’s Apex Chamber for Commerce and Industry set up in 1920, had set up the ASSOCHAM Women Foundation (AWF) in March 2009, with the vision of connecting across the global and nurturing the cause of Women in as many diverse ways as possible with the objective to promote a progressive social space for women and their economic integration, to promote women’s entrepreneurship and their employment in various echelons of business and services. As the Women of the world come together to celebrate the International Women’s Day at 8th March every year, The ASSOCHAM WOMEN FOUNDATION (AWF) is proposing to celebrate this day by organizing a meaningful discussion on the Theme “Pledge for Parity” at Hotel Claridges, New Delhi.
 
We are pleased to inform you that Smt. Smriti Irani, Hon’ble Union Minister of Human Resource Development, Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India is the “Chief Guest” on the occasion.
 
Eminent Women from different walks of life are being invited to share their thoughts on the subject of accelerating and building momentum for bridging the gender gap.
 
The Ministry of Corporate Affairs Notification of 2014 mentions in schedules VII of the Companies Act that promoting gender equality and empowering women to be a part of the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activity.
