The demonetization initiative of the Government of India is likely to increase the speed of development and deployment of digital services in order to enable transition towards a cashless economy. With Digital India, the foundation for transforming India into a digitally empowered and knowledge economy has been laid.

As the Country faces ever growing threat to the nation with effect on the economy, financial sector, key government departments and major infrastructure set up posing an imminent threat to the internal security. ASSOCHAM believes that the vision of our Hon’ble Prime Minister of Cashless Economy can only be truly fulfilled with adequate measures for cyber security.

ASSOCHAM is privileged to be the Member of the Joint Working Group (JWG) on Cyber Security set up by National Security Council Secretariat (NSCS), Government of India, Member of Cyber Regulation Advisory Committee and Member of Joint Working Group on the Digital India both set up by then Ministry of Communications and IT, Government of India.

ASSOCHAM proposes to organize a Workshop on “Securing the Cashless Economy” on Wednesday, 18th January, 2016 in New Delhi. 

The format proposed for this Workshop will be that after the Inaugural Session, each Industry Leader will share his perspective for 60 minutes individually on the subject and will educate/ demonstrate the various means to make our digital transactions more secure. We propose to have 5 such senior Industry Leaders as Master-Speakers.
