INTRODUCTION

The Food processing industry forms an important segment of Indian economy in terms of contribution to GDP, Investment, and Employment and is a major drive in country’s growth in near future. Realizing potential for growth in this sector, there is a need to have enabled favorable policy for attracting investment to the Food Processing Sector which will result a splurge for investment into infrastructure, R&D, technology, food safety, manufacturing, logistics and skill development in food processing sector.
In today’s era the applications of modern technologies in food and agro food industry is absolutely essential to meet the challenges of globalization and growth in food processing sector cannot be achieved without the use of Science & technology.

In order to discuss and focus on those untapped potential of FP sector in the state and also to give an impetus to the growth of the Food Processing Sector in Madhya Pradesh, ASSOCHAM has announced to organized “AGRO & FOOD PROCESSING SUMMIT:- Technology - InvestmentInfrastructurewith the theme ofMADHYA PREDESH.…A Land of Opportunities”  on 25th May, 2017 in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. This summit will be a key event in the Food Processing Showcasing latest technology, opportunities, discuss food safety issues and facilitation for investments in Food processing Sector.  The Unique recipe of the event is to organize B2B and B2G meetings on request, to facilitate dialogue for business/Investment.

KEY OBJECTIVES

The Summit will focus on potential in food processing sector in the state with a  View to Increase business opportunities and investments by meeting the following Objectives:

  • To invite new ideas from multiple stakeholders like industrialists, farmers Group, consumers, academia, etc on opportunities and potentialities in food processing sector in Madhya Pradesh & also creating networking amongst them.
  • To bring awareness on various scheme of central & state Government on Food Processing and also to focus on efforts made by State Government of Madhya Pradesh for the development and growth of food processing sector in the state.
  • To build effective linkages between producers and processors for mutually beneficial agreements like contract farming.
  • To Strengthening Backward and Forward integrations
  • To promote the investment for the holistic development of food processing sector in Madhya Pradesh
  • To accelerate growth of FPI in State through facilitating establishment of strong infrastructure backed by an efficient supply chain.
  • To create modern enabling infrastructure for food processing units in the state and also to demonstrate best practices on value-addition in agriculture.
