Health Security for ALL

“Access to Quality & Affordable Healthcare”

Thursday, 1st June, 2017, Hotel Royal Plaza, New Delhi

The Union Government approved the National Health Policy 2017 which proposes to provide “assured Health Services to all” in the country. The Policy seeks to reach everyone in a comprehensive integrated way to move towards wellness.  It aims at achieving universal health coverage and delivering quality health care services to all at affordable cost.
This Policy looks at problems and solutions holistically with private sector as strategic partners. It seeks to promote quality of care, focus is on emerging diseases and investment in promoting and preventive healthcare. It also addresses health security.

The Rashtriya Swasthya Bima Yojana (RSBY), a centrally-sponsored scheme, caters to provide financial protection to targeted population including those below the poverty line. It covers the cost of secondary-level hospitalization. Currently, the RSBY has been implemented in 19 states / UT. The Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana (PMSSY) aims at correcting the imbalances in the availability of affordable healthcare facilities in the different parts of the country in general, and augmenting facilities for quality medical education in the under-served States in particular.
