Speedy dispute resolution regarding commercial disputes is one of the important drivers for economic development in any country. India being one of the economies having high potential and ambitious country, it is important to ensure effective and speedy judicial delivery system. The Union Cabinet on 7
th March, 2018 has approved the Arbitration & Conciliation (Amendment) Bill, 2018 and Commercial Courts, Commercial Division and Commercial Division of High Courts (Amendment) Bill, 2018, for introduction in the Parliament. The Amendments in the Act of 1996 will facilitate achieving the goal of improving institutional arbitration in India. Similarly the Amendments in the Commercial Courts Act, 2015 seeks to bring down the specified value of a commercial disput to Rs.3 lakhs from the present One Crore.


To discuss the effects & implications of these amendments, AICADR in association with Singapore International Arbitration Centre, (SIAC), Singapore, is organizing a one day Conference on ‘Faster Resolution of Commercial Disputes’ on 12th May. 2018 at Hotel Royal Plaza, New Delhi,  to provide a platform to discuss the challenges faced by arbitral instiutions in the faster resolution of commercial disputes and how to overcome them.
