Greetings from

With India transforming into one of the fastest growing economies, skill development and job creation have become natural tools to ensure sustainable growth. As per latest census of India, by the year 2022, an estimate over 10crore fresh workers would enter the labour market and will require skill training while nearly 30crore of the existing work force will require additional skill training over the same time period. This is a critical requirement for the industrial and economic growth of the country. Government has taken various initiatives in this regard. Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship has come up with new National policy for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship- 2015.

The main goal of Skill India is to create opportunities, space and scope for the development of the talents of the Indian youth and to develop more of those sectors which have already been put under skill development for the last so many years and also to identify new sectors for skill development. The Skilling India aims at capability building by providing training and skill development to 500 million youth of our country by 2022 covering each and every village. Various schemes have been proposed to achieve this objective.

To discuss on current scenario on skill development and catalyze the initiatives, ASSOCHAM is organizing a National Summit Cum Award on Skilling India – The Way Forward on Friday, 7th June 2019 at Hotel BNR Chanakya, Ranchi.
