ASSOCHAM is engaging with various state governments across the country for the development of the industry and region. ASSOCHAM under the guidance of Ministry of Food Processing Industries have been taking several initiatives with special focus on North East. As knowledge we have been preparing necessary studies and create the right industry platform for food processing sector.
North East of India too has constraints and issues of awareness and knowledge among entrepreneurs, coordination between the stakeholders. ASSOCHAM through its initiatives in North Eastern region has been working towards connecting all stake holders. Through our local and international partners we are connecting North East entrepreneurs especially women entrepreneurs with larger markets to promote the products and services.
In this regard ASSOCHAM in association with Ministry of Food Processing Govt. of India is organizing a strategy meet to discuss new investments into organic sector and will focus on linking farmers with the companies to strengthen access to domestic & global markets. Program will also focus on ways to promote economic vibrancy of the state in terms of trade and commerce, organic mission, logistics, thus enabling sustainable and inclusive development of Sikkim. There will be the discussion on the local solutions and experiences of other experts from other parts of the country as well as B2B & B2G meetings.

The key objectives of the summit are:
·         To provide a platform for exploring business prospects/opportunities under the Mofpi Schemes for food processing sector.
·         To focus on linking farmers with the companies to strengthen access to domestic & global markets
·         To augment the capacity of food processors working to upscale their operations through capital infusion, technology transfer, skill Up gradation and handholding support
·       To provide better support system to organized food processing sector and support established self help groups working in food processing sector to facilitate them to achieve SME status.
·         To demonstrate best practices on value-addition in Food Processing
·        To identify and recognize companies involved in Food Sector from Sikkim and other states that through their innovative actions have launched breakthrough changes and can become role models for others to emulate.
