About Event  | Agenda

The global spread of COVID-19 has sparked a clarion call to diversify supply chains away from China. The need perhaps is stronger for India as we fight a diplomatic battle with the country along the border.

China accounts for about 14% of India's imports and is a major supplier for sectors like cell phones, telecom, power, plastic toys and critical pharma ingredients. China holds a significant influence in our markets for which we need larger policy interventions. A knee jerk reaction to Chinese stand has to be replaced by a cogent strategy and action plan where all the stakeholders from consumer of Chinese goods to those involved in social innovation need to play a role. However, reducing India’s reliance on China won’t be easy.

With this objective, ASSOCHAM is organizing a webinar on “Gaining market autonomy - An era of reduced dependence on China”
The key points to be discussed during the webinar:
·         How can India reduce overdependence on China?
·         Is it realistic for India to stop buying from China?
·         Who does it impact more, China or India?
·         What are the alternatives available for India?
·         Is there a way we can overtake China in some areas?

We invite Indian industry to participate in this important webinar to gain knowledge towards achieving the goal of Atmanirbhar Bharat. The webinar details are as below:
