Greeting from the ASSOCHAM,
The COVID-19 crisis has left the global stock markets in turmoil and many industries staring at an uncertain future. Most of the listed companies in the Indian stock markets have witnessed a significant downfall. In these turbulent times, corporations, financial institutions, investors and professionals are grappling with several questions related to the valuation for various purposes. Recently, the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) had constituted a Committee of Experts to examine the need for an institutional framework to regulate and develop valuation as a profession. On the basis of the Committee’s recommendation, a Draft Valuers Bill, 2020 has been drafted to establish a National Institute of Valuers (NIV).
In this connection, the ASSOCHAM National Council for Insolvency & Bankruptcy Code has proposed an Interactive Session on Impact of COVID-19 & Draft Valuation Bill “The Way Forward” scheduled to be held on Wednesday, 29th July 2020 from 03:00 PM- 04:00 PM with the aim to analyse the Valuers Bill 2020 taking into account the valuation professionals and having a detailed discussion on challenges & opportunity for the companies.
Key Areas of Discussion

  • Draft Valuation Bill 2020
  • Impact of this situation on investments of entities that are being accounted at fair value
  • Impairment in the carrying value of assets like Goodwill, Intangible Assets etc.
  • Changing macroeconomic factors like reduced interest rates on valuations
On behalf of the ASSOCHAM National Council for Insolvency & Bankruptcy Code, we cordially invite you for this timely and meaningful knowledge sharing session for your valuable inputs.
