With more growth and investment, new players on the rise and rapid advancements in technology, the protection and enforcement of intellectual property has gained more importance in the media and entertainment sector. Unsurprisingly, copyright plays a central role in protecting IP rights in the industry.

We are pleased to inform that ASSOCHAM IPR Council, IPFC Delhi and IPFC Bangalore with the support of DCMSME, Government of India have scheduled a Virtual Conference on Copyright Exploring the implications and the Copyright Protection on 26th February 2021.

This conference aims to discuss
challenges faced by conventional Copyright regime in a digital era; impact of mandatory data sharing regime on rights of Copyright holders; global best practices in terms of modernization of Copyright act and licensing; issues of Over-the-top (OTT) video piracy, peer- to-peer piracy and other ways of Copyright infringement in digital times; the authorship issues related to copyright protectable content; Statutory licensing for online streaming services; Changes required in licensing mechanisms to suit the needs of digital sphere.
