Conversations about innovation in India routinely begin with a discussion of jugaad, which is an approach to find solution by mashing up products and technologies so that they work more appropriately. INNOVATION aims to search solutions by providing more value using less inputs, be it cost, energy, effort or time, and serve more consumers and users than was hitherto possible. Today more than ever, innovation is the key to survival in the competitive world. Those who have the aptitude for identifying opportunities, creative thinking, problem solving, and risk taking will meet success on a time scale for long and it will lead to global recognition of India as an innovation hub.

For building Innovation ecosystem in India ASSOCHAM is organizing 2nd National Innovation Summit (NIS- II). The first NIS in 2010 was addressed by Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam (Former President of India), Prof. Michael Grätzel (Professor, Ecole Polytechniqu de Lausanne) and several other dignitaries and scholars. NIS-II is a national, multi-sectoral platform for creative thinking, debate and purposeful action in order to build the future through innovation. Through both the annual Summit and an award ceremony for categories such as Business Development, Science & Technology and Social Development, NIS- II will promote the collaboration and building future of Innovation.

Why NIS?

NIS is built for courageous leaders, those who aren't afraid to get hands on and tackle provocative issues like risk, failure and change. We welcome those who channel their passion, and commit themselves each day to the pursuit of bolder innovation and meaningful collaboration through various innovative ideas and creativity.
