It was indeed very heartening to learn that the Kudankulam Nuclear Plant Project became functional recently. We note that the electricity generated from this Nuclear Plant will be supplied to four southern States including the State of Tamil Nadu where the plant is located.Needless to say that this plant is one of many, India hopes to build as part of its aim of generating 63,000 MW of power by 2030.
ASSOCHAM along with Nuclear Energy Group (NEG) has been very actively supporting and promoting the Government of India’s decision of generating nuclear energy with active support of the private sector for addressing the huge demand for electricity in the country.
ASSOCHAM had commissioned a detailed report on Indo-US Civil Nuclear Agreement to create awareness amongst its Members and stake holders at large. The Hon’ble Prime Minister of India and Chairperson UPA have personally written to ASSOCHAM lauding the efforts made by ASSOCHAM.
To further appreciate and understand the nation’s huge requirement of power in the future, ASSOCHAM is organising the 5th International Conference on Nuclear Energy on Friday, 23rd August, 2013 in New Delhi.
We are pleased to inform you that Shri V. Narayanasamy, Hon’ble Minister of State for PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances, Pensions, & Parliamentary Affairs, Government of India has very kindly consented to Address the 5th International Conference on Nuclear Energy as “Chief Guest” in the Inaugural Session.
