GroundZero Summit 2013 has been conceived on the aegis of a program initiated within the Government to create credible Information Security Professionals within the country through a consortium approach - The Infosec Consortium a not-for-profit body. The advisory board of the consortium comprises ex-officials of the Government who had been at the helm of the affairs dealing with National Security who would allign the efforts of the consortium with the overall policy directives of the Government.
India has been a fore-runner in the domain of information technology and we as a nation need to play a pro-active role in the South Asian region and in overall framework of cyber domain. Therefore there is a need to integrate the forces on ground so as to ensure that the products and services created by individuals and unorganized groups within the country is adequately promoted at larger platforms to promote global businesses.
The consortium comprises of 6 major cyber security groups today with a total membership of more than 24000 Infosec professionals. Several Government agencies are supportive of these initiatives and as you would see, the conference - the first initiative of this consortium- is bringing together various government agencies, the individuals, the academia and the industry together.
