Pranab Mukherjee - a true Bharat Ratna; immensely contributed to Indian economy: ASSOCHAM

New Delhi, 31st August 2020:
Paying homage to former President of India, Shri Pranab Mukherjee, ASSOCHAM Secretary General Mr Deepak Sood said, "With his demise, the country has lost a seasoned politician, a great administrator and an Indian who was truly a Bharat Ratna."
Mr Sood said, "Shri Pranab Mukherjee's rich experience in India's political economy and his clear understanding of domestic and international issues made him stand out as an exceptional figure in the Indian polity and governance. His contribution to the Indian economy in various capacities was of high standard and great depth."
He said, "Pranab Da had been a great friend and well-wisher of ASSOCHAM. We had the privilege of hosting him on several occasions, as the Finance Minister and later as the President of India."
His name would go down as a great leader of the Indian Republic, the ASSOCHAM Secretary General said.
