QUAD Leaders Tokyo Summit 2022

30 May 2022

The QUAD owes its origins to the group of nations which had come together on an informal basis in the wake of the 2004 Tsunami in
the Indian Ocean. This was eventually formalised in 2007 as the Quadrilateral Security Dialogue or the Quadrilateral Initiative. The
leaders of the QUAD Nations – the United States, Japan, Australia and India – met on May 24, 2022, in Tokyo, Japan to renew their
steadfast commitment to a free and open Indo-Pacific that is inclusive and resilient.
