The ASSOCHAM National Council on Travel, Tourism & Hospitality serves as a strategic Industry Policy Forum dedicated to advancing India's tourism and hospitality economy through policy advocacy, stakeholder collaboration, and future-ready growth initiatives. Aligned with ASSOCHAM's five transformative pillars—Make in India, Ease of Doing Business, MSME Growth, Digital Economy, and Sustainability & Environment—the Council works closely with the Central and State Ministries of Tourism, industry leaders, and allied organisations to address sectoral priorities and unlock new opportunities.

Its agenda focuses on strengthening domestic and inbound tourism, improving investment facilitation, enabling tourism-linked MSME growth, promoting digital adoption across the travel value chain, and embedding sustainable practices across destinations, hotels, transport, and allied services.

In the post-pandemic landscape, the Council continues to support sectoral revival by encouraging resilient business models, skill development, innovation, public-private partnerships, and strategic policy interventions. With India's growth ambitions and expanding global presence, the Council aims to position tourism and hospitality as key contributors to employment, export promotion, regional development, and inclusive economic growth, while building a competitive, sustainable, and globally connected tourism ecosystem.

PRIORITY AREAS

  • Policy advocacy and ease of doing business for tourism, hospitality and allied sectors.
  • MSME enablement, digital adoption and skill development across the travel value chain.
