ASSOCHAM the national apex chamber of the country with family of 4.5 Lacs member and 400 trade associations have been in service of the country since 1920. ASSOCHAM works very closely with all the departments of states and departments of Govt. of India for the development of the industry and region. ASSOCHAM under the guidance of Ministry of Food Processing Industries have been taking several initiatives with special focus on North East. As knowledge chamber we have been preparing necessary studies and create the right industry platform for agriculture and food processing sector.
 
Tripura acts as a gateway between Northeast India and Bangladesh. The state shares an 856-km international border with Bangladesh. This offers enormous potential to agriculture and food processing sector for international trade.
 
In this regard ASSOCHAM with the active support of MoFPI Govt of India and department of Commerce & Industries Govt of Tripura is organizing a strategy meet to boost growth of food processing export from Tripura & to develop strategies of significant role for Tripura in NE region for International Trade Relations.
  
The key objectives of the summit are:
 
·         To promote agriculture and food processing export of Tripura amongst the growing importance of South Asia Economic Partnerships, ASEAN Trade Relations
·         A Congress of Corporate, International Trade Experts to develop strategies of significant role for Tripura in NE region for International Trade Relations
·         Reach Nations and Countries Via Bangladesh
·         to boost growth in the food processing sector & an agri-export zone for various agri produce of Tripura
·         Strategic usage of Rail, Road and Air connect for international trade
·         International export opportunities and potential in food processing sector in Tripura
·         Regulatory issues / laws relating to Food Processing/ Food Safety.
·         Incentives available under different policies of the GoI.
·         Food Value chain in the context of Tripura
·         Skill Development and  adaptation of better technology
