ASSOCHAM, as India's Apex Chamber of Commerce, plays a significant role in advancing India's agriculture sector through both modern and traditional approaches. The Council of Agri Industries & Farming Practices functions as an Industry Policy Forum, bringing together key stakeholders, including the Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers' Welfare, Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairying, Ministry of Jal Shakti, Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizers, SFAC, APEDA, NDDB, ICAR, CSIR, NCCD, MPEDA, and other leading institutions to deliberate on sectoral priorities, strengthen public policy dialogue, and recommend regulatory reforms that enhance productivity, sustainability, and business competitiveness.

The Council's core functions include stakeholder collaboration, public policy advocacy, promotion of innovation, research and capacity-building programmes, and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
