The widespread adoption of 5G, digital communication platforms, advanced networks, and digital services has become integral to the vision of Digital India and the country's growing digital economy. Continued infrastructure development, regulatory reforms, and progressive public policy will be critical to sustaining the sector's growth and global competitiveness.

The ASSOCHAM Digital Communication Council serves as an Industry Policy Forum and a leading industry voice, bringing together stakeholders, policymakers, regulators, and industry leaders to promote Ease of Doing Business, market intelligence, business competitiveness, infrastructure development, and regulatory reforms across the digital communications ecosystem.

The Council focuses on key issues including the financial health of the telecom sector, common telecom infrastructure, alignment of State policies with Right of Way (RoW) Rules, mandatory equipment testing, telecom manufacturing, spectrum management, emerging technologies, early allocation of E & V bands, IoT/M2M, 5G, Wi-Fi, cybersecurity, privacy and data protection, network security, OTT frameworks, and Public Protection and Disaster Relief (PPDR).

Under the aegis of the National Digital Communications Council, the ASSOCHAM Digital Communication Council actively contributed to the formulation of the National Digital Communications Policy, 2018. The Council continues its efforts by advancing dialogue on 5G applications, IoT, emerging technologies, telecom sector reforms, and policies that support the sustainable growth of India's digital communications ecosystem.
