India's civil aviation sector is expanding rapidly, driven by the vision of enhanced air connectivity, world-class airport infrastructure, and sustainable aviation growth. The sector plays a pivotal role in strengthening economic growth, global trade, tourism, regional connectivity, and international connectivity, while contributing to infrastructure development and business competitiveness.

The ASSOCHAM National Council on Civil Aviation serves as a leading Industry Policy Forum, bringing together civil aviation experts, including airlines, airport operators, maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) organisations, original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), service providers, policymakers, and regulators to deliberate on sectoral challenges, exchange industry insights, and recommend public policy and regulatory reforms.

Through policy advocacy, stakeholder consultations, conferences, seminars, and industry engagements, the Council supports innovation, infrastructure development, and industry–government collaboration to accelerate the sustainable growth of India's civil aviation ecosystem and strengthen the country's position as a global aviation hub.

• Make in India & Aviation Ecosystem: Promoting domestic MRO, aircraft component manufacturing, and a self-reliant aviation ecosystem.
• Policy Reforms: Advocating regulatory simplification, investment facilitation, and industry-friendly policies.
• Infrastructure & Connectivity Development: Supporting airport expansion, regional connectivity, and International connectivity through hub-and-spoke aviation networks.
• Sustainable Aviation Growth: Promoting green airports, sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), energy efficiency, and low-carbon aviation solutions.
• Enhancing Air Connectivity: Supporting expansion of regional and international connectivity through initiatives such as UDAN and development of aviation hubs.
• Air Cargo & Logistics Development: Strengthening air freight infrastructure, cargo efficiency, and India’s position as a global logistics hub.
