Sadhguru shares benefits of yoga at work in series held for Int'l Yoga Day

New Delhi, 06th June 2021: Addressing the fourth session of ASSOCHAM Sunday Discussion Series on the occasion of International Day of Yoga 2021, world renowned speaker, best-selling author, yogi and mystic SadhguruJaggi Vasudev who is also founder and president of Isha Foundation delivered keynote address on the theme of ‘yoga at work-path to success’.

“Yoga is the mechanics of life, it helps change perspective towards life and alleviate stress,” said Sadhguru.

He added that yoga helps in confronting the problems and challenges of life and seek solutions to the same with a clear mind.

“Stress does not come from work but because when one is not able to manage his/her own body, mind, emotions and chemistry. Yoga is a technology of well-being that helps in inner-engineering,” said Sadhguru.

The session was moderated by Ms Vani Madhav, Cultural Head, ASSOCHAM Women Forum.

Apex industry body ASSOCHAM with support from Union Ministry of AYUSH has launched a `Sunday Discussion Series` to celebrate International Day of Yoga 2021 highlighting the physical and mental health benefits of regular yoga practice and how it can be used as a tool to stay healthy.

The Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (ASSOCHAM) in association with Ayush Virtual Convention Centre (AVCC) and Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga (MDNIY) has organised an on-going series of virtual sessions on yoga to promote and spread the message of ‘Har Ghar Mein Yoga’ highlighting the role of the ancient practice and its role in physical and spiritual well-being.

The first session of Discussion Series on Yoga was inaugurated by Mr Kiren Rijiju, Minister of State (independent charge) for Youth Affairs and Sports and Minister for AYUSH (additional charge) on Sunday, May 16, 2021.

While the second session was addressed by Senior Rajyoga Teacher & International Motivational Speaker, Sister Shivani on Sunday, May 23, 2021, whereby she shared her perspective on how yoga can help bring in mindfulness, self-awareness, and numerous other health benefits for women as they are more prone to physical, mental and psychological problems because of their reproductive cycle and related hormonal imbalances.

The third session of the discussion series was held on May 30, 2021 and addressed by Pujya Swami ChidanandSaraswati, president and spiritual head of the Parmarth Niketan Ashram, a spiritual institution based in Rishikesh, Uttarakhand who shared his views on how Yoga can be helpful in preparing India’s youth for future.

Talking about the chambers’ initiative, ASSOCHAM president, Mr Vineet Agarwal said, “The objective of this series is to promote and spread the message of yoga, the oldest holistic healthcare practice globally and to highlight its role in our physical, mental and spiritual well-being.”

“While the journey of Yoga started over 5000 years ago as a means to build strength, awareness and harmony in both the mind and body, its importance for individuals and populations to make healthier choices and follow lifestyle patterns that foster good health was never felt more acutely than now as the country and the world at large battles the Covid pandemic,” said the ASSOCHAM chief.

The discussion saw  participation of eminent personalities including - Dr Ishwar V Basavaraddi, Director, Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga (MDNIY), Ministry of AYUSH, Dr Raghavendra Rao, Director, Central Council for Research in Yoga and Naturopathy, Ministry of AYUSH, Mrs Upasana Arora, Co-Chair, ASSOCHAM National Empowerment Council &  Chairperson, Yashoda Super Speciality Hospital, Mr TomioIsogai, Former Managing Director, Sharp India Ltd & Member-BKS Iyengar Yoga Association of Japan, Member - Ayurveda Society in Japan, Mr Anuurag Arora, Senior Vice President , ndian Government Business – VFS Global, Ms Sobika Rao, Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga, Ministry of AYUSH.

The final session of the discussion series on June 13, 2021 is likely to be addressed by Dr H. R. Nagendra, vice Chancellor, S-VYASA University whereby he is likely to share his thoughts on yoga related aspects.

The ASSOCHAM-Ayush Sunday Discussion Series is streamed live on ASSOCHAM social media handles on platforms like Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube at 10 am (IST).
